Dr. Varun Manek began his medical journey at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (LTMMC), Sion, one of Mumbai’s most prestigious institutions, where he completed his undergraduate medical degree. He went on to pursue his post-graduation in orthopedics SBMCH, Chennai, gaining a solid foundation in orthopedic surgery.
To further specialize, Dr. Manek completed a fellowship in joint replacement surgery under the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons (ISHKS) under the mentorship of Dr Nilen Shah. This fellowship equipped him with advanced skills in primary and revision joint replacements. Additionally, he undertook a fellowship in arthroscopy and earned a Diploma in Sports Medicine certified by FIFA, making him proficient in minimally invasive surgical techniques for sports injuries and knee disorders.
Additionally, he has acquired a fellowship in joint replacement at OCM (Orthopädische Chirurgie München) Munich, Germany with the key focus being complex hip and knee surgeries, including both primary and revision joint replacements. Furthermore, he has obtained exposure to novel surgical techniques which were also performed during his fellowship tenure. He has been an integral part of the team that has performed upto 300 joint replacement surgeries at OCM, Munich, Germany.
